Shelley Bosworth

Time Out With….Shelley Bosworth

I first met Shelley at our February London Meet Up this year and loved her energy, enthusiasm and honed skills to help women Thrive in business. So I was thrilled when Shelley joined us in the Membership. It’s hard to believe she’s a new kid on the self-employed block. She’s invested time, energy and money to raise her visibility, her connections and most definitely gives so much to build her business.

If you’re curious how other women run their businesses and their top tips to thrive in business? Each month, I catch up with one of our wonderful Thrive Collective Members to find out more about them and their business and share their top 5 tips to creating success in business.

This month, it’s over to Shelley. Shelley runs two businesses. Her first as a Life & Mindset Coach for professional women and business owners trying to balance it all and wanting to focus on what they want to achieve in life for them, guilt free and confidently.    The second is an online health and wellness business in partnership with the global brand Arbonne. Shelley is passionate about helping others look after themselves and this enables her to help others to make choices for a healthier living inside and out and support and mentor others who might want to start their own business.

Tell us Shelley, why do you do what you do?

My passion and my superpower has always been empowering and inspiring people to believe in themselves and how amazing they can be when they find their own superpower. Leading teams in corporate life enabled me to develop and grow my skills and Life Coaching enables me to directly support and guide women who want more, to find the confidence to take action and achieve everything they want … this makes my heart literally sing!

What practical advice would you give to anyone about to start, or in the early stages of owning a business?

Get clear on your why because in the tough times, and there will be them, you need to have such focus and determination that it’s worth it! Have a financial back up plan for at least the first 6 months! You never know what’s round the corner and building a business takes time.

What or who has been your greatest influence in business and why?

I can’t name a single ‘who’ but I am eternally grateful every day for the connections I have made and the relationships I have built with fellow female business owners who have been or are on the same journey. We lift each other, we support, we trust and we get it .. together!

What’s the best piece of advice that you’ve been given in business?

Don’t compare your journey with someone else’s and don’t be afraid to ask for help. You don’t know what you don’t know and there’s a lot to learn behind the scenes in running your own business

What one thing have you learned as a small business owner that has served you well over the years?

Have a plan and a desired end goal. The plan will probably change but you can’t wing it every day!

What has been the most effective marketing initiatives or programs you have used to promote your business?

For me the best form of marketing is in person networking (even if that is virtual at the moment!!), human connection is key to growing a business.

Do you have any new projects coming up?

I’m now 6 months in to running my coaching business full time and with the journey we have all been on this year I am seeing so many people with their confidence having taken a knock. In August I have 2 ‘Supercharge Your Self confidence Workshops’ planned and I’m working on some really exciting collaborations with fellow business owners for 2021!
